In an attempt to move toward a more authentic World Showcase experience at Epcot, Walt Disney World has announced the upcoming replacement of some entertainment acts that have a huge folowing. Mo’Rockin, Off Kilter, Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps and World Showcase Players will be removed from Epcot. Rumors point to late September in the September 27 range.
Disney states, “New experiences debuting over the next several months will contribute to the rich mix of entertainment at Epcot, and provide fresh experiences for our guests. In the near future, you can look forward to enjoying a traditional Berber music and dance troupe in Morocco, a corps of dynamic flag-waving performers in Italy, a thrilling lumberjack-inspired show in Canada, a Celtic folk music ensemble at the United Kingdom, and more.
We always enjoy taking in the World Showcase Players, so they will be missed for our family, but Epcot has presented the same acts and, in many cases, the same songs for many years. A refreshment is long overdue for a park that is supposed to be always changing. Rumors have been pointing toward Maelstrom changing to support more of a Frozen theme that could begin as early as late September as well.

I hope the lady who makes the Japanese candy is still there when we go this December. I am bummed about the World Showcase Players because of the holiday Christmas Carol - we won't get to see that now as this is our first Christmas in Epcot. I watched the lumberjack show on youtube - sounded neat but idk when i saw it online it didn't appeal to me? Curious to hear what someone who has already seen the show thinks.

Miyuki retired last year due to health concerns. You can find the current Disney World shows under "Entertainment" above. Lumberjack show was boring with too much filler talk in my opinion.

Visitors who come repeatedly come back over and over because of the variety of entertainment. These acts they are trimming seem to me that the visitors they are catering to are not the hard core Disney fans, and preferring the "once in a lifetime" visitors. I hope this is not the case. There better be more coming. Otherwise, big time Disney visitors are going to get bored of going!

I'm sad. I've always been a big fan of Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps, it's a good feeling when they play the Army song during the medley. I'm going to assume the replacements are coming sooner that later. Although after reading the reviews of Unleash the Villains, I don't have a lot of confidence in the park leadership. The DIS has a good article on under utilized spaces, I think a lack of entertainment at Epcot is along those lines.

Change is never easy, so I get that part of my disappointment. And sad to say that I saw mostly indifference to the Fife & Drum, people would actually walk through their performance, so I do understand why that was removed, but I am really hoping that they just have delayed in announcing a replacement. How can we NOT have a show.
