Epic Universe
Theme Park enthusiasts are beyond excited about Universal Orlando’s new theme park. Epic Universe is sure to be popular.
It will open in 2025 and will offer an entirely new level of experience that will change theme park entertainment. Guests will travel into beloved stories and through vibrant lands on adventures where the journey is as amazing as the ultimate destination.
Epic Universe Preview Center
Right now, Guests can check out all the fun in store for them at Epic Universe at the Epic Universe Preview Center in CityWalk. You can stop by on your way to the parks.
Guests will find it between the entry to CityWalk and Islands of Adventure. It’s occupying the space where the Universal Legacy Store used to be.
This center contains a HUGE model of the entire theme park. You will also find plenty of photo ops and merch!
The Model
The main draw of the preview center, of course, is the detailed scale model of Epic Universe. Guests can walk around the perimeter and take a look at each of the new lands. It’s really impressive.

It serves as a 3D map of exactly what you will eventually see. You can check out Celestial Park, the epicenter of the park, as well as all the new lands: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
The models of the coasters give potential riders a good idea of what to expect from thrilling drops to inversions. The planned coasters are on display now!
These include both tracks of a dueling coaster called Stardust Racers. This racing coaster will pit visitors against each other across dueling tracks.
More Epic Universe Details
You will also see Super Nintendo World, which includes Mine Cart Madness, the Donkey Kong Coaster. It is a clone of a popular existing coaster with a cool jump-the-tracks trick.
If you look at How to Train Your Dragon: the Isle of Berk, in addition to a water ride, and a wild-claw style thriller, you will find a family coaster. Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is sure to delight.
You will also notice several castles including on dark, twisted one. This is over in Dark Universe, which is sure to be a thrilling land, especially for fans of Halloween Horror Nights.
You will also be able to look at model for the Curse of the Werewolf coaster. It is one of two attractions planned for Dark Universe. The other is a dark ride.
Additionally, be sure to catch a glimpse of the newset segment of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Ministy of Magic is sure to be a hit with fans.
You can also get a sense of all the intentional bits of theming throughout the park. This is going to be Universal’s most immersive effort yet.
My (Kate’s) children were mesmerized by all the tiny details.I have to agree with them. This center is really cool, and it is definitely worth stopping by if you are interested in a little glimpse into the future. It only made our family even more excited to see and experience the real deal once it finally opens.
Photo Ops
Of course, there are also plenty of photo ops. Film and photography are welcome inside the center.
You can pose with a portal to each of the new lands as well. It would be fun to get a photo of each member of your party and the land they look forward to most! You could collage it with a photo of them in the real land once the time comes to explore them in person.
And, you can even catch some virtual tours of Isle of Berk on display on one of the screens. It’s fun, but it might be disorienting if you get motion sickness.
Epic Universe Merch
And of course, there is plenty of merchandise. Some of it is specific to the new lands.
For example, you’ll find plenty of Super Mario merch. This includes a line of Princess Peach-specific items.
The How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk Merch included apparel and plush toys. But, best of all was the Toothless refillable popcorn bucket. It was pretty adorable.
Additionally, there is also a good selection of Epic Universe branded merch. We found hats, belt bags, and t-shirts for both adults and children. The navy Epic T-shirts are nice and soft.
I thought it felt odd to buy merch for a park I haven’t even been to yet. But, the kids disagreed with me because, OF COURSE, they will love Epic Universe.
Pirate Tip: if you plan to pre-buy Epic Universe merch for the whole family for your eventual trip, you might want to size up for the kids’ sizes so that they will still fit once the park opening rolls around.
Opening
