Disney World Character Locator app now available in the Google Play Store.

I’m excited to announce that our Disney World Character Locator app is now available for Android devices in the Google Play store!
It contains every full active character schedule in Walt Disney World, photos of each character, a map that expands when clicked upon to show you exactly where to find the character, meet and greet tips and trivia.
I believe it’s better than Mobile Magic and My Disney Experience (currently iPhone only) for locating and recording your character meets.
We’ve included:
Animal Kingdom
Epcot
Hollywood Studios
Magic Kingdom
Character Meals – see every character in alphabetical order.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween locations based on 2011. We will update as soon as new data is released for 2012. (Christmas Party and Star Wars Weekends coming soon)
Rare characters – we’ve included hundreds of characters who aren’t scheduled that you might come across in your character hunting.
Characters met – keep track of your data including character, date, time and location. The information is sortable too.
You can keep track of all your meets and even sort them in a variety of ways. You can share your great character finds with friends on social media including: Twitter, Facebook (Friendcaster works best for this), blogging, text messages, email and more.
It is available for free with pop ups and advertisements or you can click the menu button and purchase the ad free app for only $1.99 by clicking on your menu button. If you’re a fan of the blog, I appreciate your support!
The free version only takes a small amount of data once installed to offer the ads, but the ad free version doesn’t require in park data to use, so you can use your tablet in the park for schedules and you don’t have to worry about cell or wifi coverage.
I hope the app makes finding characters a little easier!

New character rumors for Magic Kingdom and Epcot
![]() |
(Rumors until officially confirmed by Disney of course)
It’s been a great, busy week in the character world. We’ve received confirmation and artwork for Pete’s Silly Sideshow and heard that Gaston will join the Enchanted Forest crew and reminded you that Ariel will move back to fin form as well.
Well, I have received more exciting news for the Magic Kingdom. Marie is said to be moving from Epcot to Magic Kingdom to take Daisy’s spot at the flag pole, Chip n Dale will relocate to Donald’s spot in Frontierland (reported previously) and Captain Hook and Mr. Smee will return to take over Goofy’s spot at the Pirate’s ride!
I have read on another character blog that Beast would leave Epcot to move to Magic Kingdom, but that rumor seems to have no credence for meet and greets.
The Princesses will receive a grand new makeover with new dresses, hairstyles and shoes when their new area opens in 2013. Could we hope for Aurora as Briar Rose???
Donald will leave the character spot in Epcot and Daisy will move into that spot. Donald will remain Mexico. Stitch is said to be relocating to a yet unknown location.
Enjoy your character hunting made easier!

Dug and Russell – Animal Kingdom
Dug and Russell currently meet only in Animal Kingdom. They can be seen in the Hollywood Studios daytime parade.
Tuesday Tip: Take advantage of Character Palooza!
NOTE: The first two days after returning from hiatus have been held on the STREETS of AMERICA and ECHO LAKE, thanks to everyone for updating me!
One of the best character surprises is often referrred to as Character Palooza (Characterpalooza) or the Fantasmic! meet. It takes place in the Animation area where Sorcerer Mickey and the Incredibles are located Echo Lake for the first set at 4:30 and often the second set has been on the Streets of America at 5:30 The set times may be a bit off, so arrive early! It’s the same area that one draws characters as well. Because it is an unpublished meet, there is usually a short wait for some great and often rare characters. Here’s some of the characters that we’ve met over the years with a ranking of 1 to 5 on how often they have appeared that was provided by a good friend:
Aladdin – 1
Belle (Blue Dress) – 3
Bolt – 2
Capt. Hook – 4
Chip n Dale – 5
Genie – 2
Gepetto – 4
Goofy – 5
Green Army Man – 2
Jafar – 1
Jasmine – 1
Little Einsteins – 1
Mary Poppins – 4
Max – 4
Meeko – 4
Minnie – 5
Mr. Smee – 4
Mulan – 3
Penguins – 4
Pinocchio – 4
Pluto – 5
Pocahontas – 4

Tuesday’s Tip
Tip #1: You may never see them again!
I took my first trip to Walt Disney World in May of 1990 as a part of our honeymoon. I had always wanted to visit, but our family chose other vacation locales. In 2004 my oldest daughter was 7 years old and my son was now 5, so we thought it would be a great time to take them for their first trip. Since 2004 we’ve been a couple dozen times as a family. In 2006 we had our first grandparent reunion at WDW. By this time my children had become avid character hunters having collected over 40 signatures on this August trip.
On a Sunny day in Hollywood Studios my oldest daughter noticed Clarice making her way toward the Sorcerer’s Hat with Chip n Dale. She was excited to meet her for the first time, but we had a lunch reservation and I naively thought we must be exactly on time, so I snapped a quick photo of her passing and told her we would return to meet Clarice after lunch. Well, we didn’t know that Clarice wouldn’t return. There were no character schedules, we didn’t know we could ask the person in the yellow shirt when and where they would meet and we didn’t know of the CHIP hotline. We didn’t meet Clarice that day. We still haven’t met Clarice. It’s been more than 5 years and my daughter reminds me regularly of the one that got away. If we see a rare or unusual character, we stop to meet them now.
(Each Tuesday I will offer another tip for touring or character meeting)
