I wasn’t personally able to make it to the first party, so I sent my lovely daughter to do research for me. Most of you go to the party to meet your favorite characters, get some candy, watch the parade and fireworks, maybe ride a few rides, but that’s not how we roll. In order to provide you with accurate information, we walk around the park about 6 times and easily more than 10 miles asking questions over and over and taking blurry, out of focused photos for you. The only way I can provide schedules for events like Star Wars Weekends, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is to lace up the sneakers.
Okay, it’s about Disney and fun and meeting characters and fun stuff, so the pirate will set aside the grumpiness and post photos and review and information like you prefer.
Special Halloween Party balloons. Balloons make me happy, so the most of the rest of the post will be less Grumpy and more Dopey.

Line for Jack and Sally at 6:30 PM. Line up by 5:30 PM so you can use your actual 5 hour party time to meet other characters. This line was regularly 90 minutes+ They meet next to City Hall
Line at the flag pole is for the pumpkin photo op. A number of people were told by Cast Members that Jack and Sally would be here. NOT!
Line for the special Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card. They ran out of that night’s allotment early and people were given last year’s left overs. You can also pick up your FREE card at the Liberty Square location behind the Christmas Shoppe. Do it early in the party.
Wreck it Ralph and Vanellope were popular costumes this year.
People began holding spots for the 8:15 parade at 6:40 PM. Why??? Why would you pay this much money to sit on a curb for 2 hours?
Almost no one in line for Mickey at 6:56 PM. CMs were hinting that Talking Mickey might be here, but he wasn’t!
Mickey was with Minnie and they were only appearing in these costumes. I’ve heard that Minnie is supposed to move to Fantasyland on 9/20. Maybe to open the way for Talking Mickey???
Jane with Terk at 7:29 pm. Tarzan and Jane were alternating every 15 minutes this year until late in the party when I found them together twice.

Line for Jack Sparrow at 7:41 PM. He didn’t begin his first meet until 8:00 PM. Much longer line that is really necessary. Why not have him appear at 7:00 PM. Is it that hard?
People lining up for the Boo to You parade at 7:52 PM in Frontierland. The parade begins over here, so it’s a good location. Is that guy using my app???
Tiana met with Naveen there were short lines for them all night. This was taken at 7:57
The 7 Dwarfs! Yes 7, not 6 or 8, but 7 of them…all together. The line was said to be in the 45 minute range most of the night, probably because people didn’t follow my advice on Jack and Sally and they are still standing there at 8:01 PM
Gaston was pretty popular, especially early in the party.

Donald was dressed as a Pumpkin (kewt) and Daisy is a Princess (passe). Entrance to Storybook Circus 8:13 PM
They have like 1371 Goofy costumes and the best they could do is put him out in his daytime costume. Meet him during the day and save your time for other characters!

It was difficult to Locate Aurora and Phillip. They were supposed to be behind the Castle, but found them behind the Carousel. They close the back of the castle to prepare for fireworks. They will move to Fairy Tale Hall for the 9/20 party anyway. 8:21 PM
Most adorable costumes are the ones that the Winnie the Pooh gang wear. This was taken at 8:33
Okay, so the Cast Members didn’t have a CLUE where Alice and Hatter would be or when they would meet. I had to circle back and forth several times to find them. They don’t meet during the parades.
Monsters Inc Dance Party. Woot woot! It’s always fun to interact with different characters, so this was a nice plus over the same old Tomorrowland Dance Party.

Boo!!!!!!!! Oh not putting down the competion, but it’s Boo. Who fits better in a Halloween Party than Boo? They even name the parade in her honor.

Needleman. That little girl seems to be having a really great time. We know that Disney doesn’t offer enough dance parties.

Jack and Sally were THE MOST POPULAR meet of the night and should continue for the next month and a half at the parties. Someone was telling people to line up around the parade time, but the line had been cut, so a new line formed. Line up 5:00 – 5:30 PM to meet them and don’t waste your party money on standing around. Ride Space Mountain another time!
Jafar. Our intrepid teen reporter only got to meet two characters from running around all over the park taking photos and getting meet and greet times. Now her photo will be added to the hit list by management like me!

Anastasia and Drizella at 11:14 PM. They roamed between City Hall and Town Square Theater and the CM didn’t want lines! NO LINES! LET’S MOVE! NO LINES!
When there’s no lines, don’t be shy about jumping up next for the photo. It’s the old “atmosphere” way that some bloggers love so dearly because they like to pass by and take a photo OF the character, but don’t realize the hassle of taking a photo WITH the character.
Buzz Lightyear. Why do the keep sending this guy out for Parties? You can meet him ALL DAY long in Magic Kingdom in the same location. Put out some other character instead. 11:23 PM
This is the Limited Edition Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card. The thing is fetching like $50 on Ebay. Hmmm pirate, ebay, free mnsshp visit… Give me two $20’s or dinner at a nice restaurant and it’s yours :)

What time does Jack Sparrow start meeting? You mentioned 8 a few times, but your character app (which is well worth the time and money) has him listed at 7. I have a pirate crazy 9 year old and want to make sure.

Kenny - I just want to say that I would pay 10x what you charge for your character locator app. Heck I feel like I should send you a donation after each of our trips. I give you all the credit for making our 2013 SWW trip a success. The info you provide is not available anywhere else and I for one greatly appreciate it. $2.29 is not even a drop in the bucket to anyone that takes a Disney trip no matter how economy you go:-)
