Santa Goofy appears first at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani and stays out for 30 minutes then rotates with Santa Stitch. We went the first day and there was NO line to speak of. I think we waited like 3 minutes while the family in front took a few shots. I just used the time to play with my camera.
These characters are available December 19-23, 2013 from 4:45 to 8:30 with breaks for rotations. You can find the full Christmas resort character schedule here.
We waited around a few minutes, took some of the resort decoration photos below and checked out the free animal viewing location. My kids love how close the zebras and giraffes can get at times. Santa Stitch arrived at 5:15 pm.
Here’s a few photos of the Kidani Christmas decor. We played around with blurring the foreground and background some. I’m still pretty clueless about the whole camera setting thing. I’ve always been an automatic shooter. I need to read more of Tom Bricker’s work!
Nice garland thingy hangs over the check in area. It welcomes you and entices you to spend 3.92% more money using Magic Band technology while the resort is at all time low bookings.
I asked one Cast Member how to say “Christmas tree” in Swahili and he said it is pronounced “Christmas tree.” That should help you impress your friends at the next Christmas office party.
These trees were in the lower area near the Sanaa restaurant.
My daughter took this shot of the bow tie thingy.
And this one of the hickamabobbers and thingamajiggies
Same style, opposite side of the tree!
It’s not Christmas decor, but how many people can drive 10 minutes from their house and see giraffes and zebras for FREE? This little giraffe was galloping along and my little girl loved that.
Nothing says, “Merry Christmas” than a giant cow butt interrupting your photo.
My daughter assures me that this Zebra is white with black stripes, but Marty from Madagascar is clearly black with white stripes.
