Princess Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway at Epcot including Belle’s Christmas dress

Princess Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway at Epcot including Belle’s Christmas dress

Well, it only took me a month to finally begin to catch up on some of the photos I took way back in December.  I still have several more Christmas resorts meets to post too.  Hey, it’s still really cold outside and many states including Alabama are receiving snow.  I thought I’d post the photos that I took at Akershus back last month.  Many character fans will enjoy the photos of Belle in her red Christmas dress and Ariel in her sea foam green dress.

Walt Disney World Epcot Akershus Royal Dining Princess Character Meal (1) Across from the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is the Princess Plass where Anna and Elsa are currently meeting next to the Kringla place with the schoolbread.  I should provide you a quick update on Anna and Elsa before diving back into last month’s photos.

Anna and Elsa are now meeting from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and the meet and greet is pretty much continuous with short ice water breaks which helps makes the lines move much faster.  I now recommend that you take a look at meeting the girls more in the afternoon, so you can spend the morning doing the 2 or 3 decent rides in the park.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal

Ahead of us is Maelstrom.  Epcot thinks this ride is worthy of a Tier 1 Fastpass+, but it isn’t.  It can be ridden easily between 11:00-Noon and again after 7:00 pm with little or no wait.  Use that FP+ for either Test Track or Soarin.  I like to head to Test Track, then Mission: Space.  If you are interested in Sum of All Thrills, squeeze it in between these to rides.  I use FP+ for Soarin and then spend a few hours touring that side of the park.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal

The Vikings exhibit still offers Norway as an inspiration for the movie Frozen.

Here’s a brief look around in the Akershus Banquet Hall.  It was Christmas time, so you see a few decorations.Walt Disney World Epcot Akershus Royal Dining Princess Character Meal (4)

They use chairs and tables, you don’t have to sit on the floor cross legged or anything strange like that.  They even allow us to use plates and forks.  Just kidding Norway is actually a very progressive country, despite the 20 year old film just after Maelstrom.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal

Another Christmas wreath and we’ll meet Belle, I promise.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character MealKept my promise.  Isn’t Belle lovely in her Christmas dress?  Would the management people in charge of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas PLEASE bring her and Beast back to the party???

As a part of your rather expensive dining experience, you are provided with an 8 x 10 and some small shots of your family with Belle.  The Belle shots are also included on your Photopass, Memory Maker or whatever they call it next week with a + on it.  None of the other Princesses are included and I didn’t even see a single Photopass person with the other Princesses, but I was one of the first guests in the building.  The Princesses had to ask other Cast Members to assist us with photos, so I only appeared in this photo and the one with Snow White.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress

Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas DressAfter meeting Belle I had a couple of minutes, so I headed to the buffet line to get some fruit and pastries.  The food is served as a plated meal.  I wasn’t asked if I wanted a certain meal or even asked if I wanted it prepared any certain way.  I was just brought a plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and such.  That was fine with me, but those with allergies or different desires may want to discuss any options with the server.

I just can’t eat salmon as a breakfast food.  Isn’t it funny how we are culturally acclimated to eat Fruit Loops for breakfast and roast beef for dinner.  Why can’t we order a sausage biscuit for dinner?Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress

Bananas, grapes and nuts makes it a well-balanced diet, right?  I forgot to take a photo of my eggs and such, but you’ve probably seen those before.  I was busy standing and sitting while meeting Princesses.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress

Aurora/Briar Rose/Sleeping Beauty stopped by first to hold a conversation.  She had just awakened from a nice nap, so she was in a great mood and really nice and chatty.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress, Aurora, Briar Rose, Sleeping Beauty Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress, Aurora, Briar Rose, Sleeping Beauty

A couple of times while I was there the restaurant provided a couple of little royal marches with the Princesses.  The voice over guy did mention that it was for boys and girls but no little boys joined either march while I was there.  It was pretty odd and almost creeperish to be a lone male, adult in a Princess breakfast filled with women and little girls.  My oldest was supposed to join me, but she had a final exam or something.Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress, Aurora, Briar Rose, Sleeping Beauty

I asked nicely and Aurora was willing to pose again with the basket of flowers.  Adds to the photo, right?Walt Disney World, Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Princess Character Meal, Belle in Christmas Dress, Aurora, Briar Rose, Sleeping Beauty

Well, that’s about it.  I met a few Princesses, felt really awkward, ate the eggs I was served and didn’t have much help with photography on that particular day.  It is a really nice breakfast for little Princesses, but your little pirate might feel a bit awkward.  My son preferred to go to Cape May Cafe with me for breakfast while my wife took the girls here.  It’s a bit pricey, but you can meet several princesses with no wait and Belle usually appears in the same Gold dress that she wears at Enchanted Tales with Belle.  Belle only wears the red dress around the week of Christmas.

Are you looking forward to taking your little princess to this character dining experience?

Have you been recently? Aurora is no longer anywhere else at WDW, and my daughter's favorite princess is Aurora. We have reservations for mother's day brunch, and I need aurora to be there

Kenny,

Thank you for all this information!! I just checked out you Epcot planning guide- it is excellent!! If we have an 8:30am ADR at Akershus, how does this affect your recommended planning guide regarding Princess Meet & Greets? Are the same Princesses usually there? I'm trying to make sure we focus on the Princesses who we didn't see at breakfast.

Is the later Mulan meet & greet at 3:50pm usually a long wait? Her first time will probably happen when the kids are napping.

MANY MANY MANY THANKS FROM TEXAS!!!
