The Disney World Crowd Calendar April 2021 would usually be an extremely busy month. However, the current pandemic limits the attendance to 35% maximum. That doesn’t mean that you’ll come away with a lot of walk on attractions. You may find that many rides will have 90-120 minute waits.
Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival runs from March to May and it includes a free concert series known as Garden Rocks concerts. Artists that perform are from the 60’s to the 80’s and offer genuine flashback music. Check out the topiaries, take in a gardening seminar, walk through the butterfly garden and grab a bite to eat at the festival booths.
What will the weather be like during your April trip?
April is beautiful in Walt Disney World. The weather is warm, but not hot and there’s beautiful flowers everywhere. Epcot decorates really well for the Flower and Garden Festival and offers great topiaries and gardening seminars.
It is central Florida, so bring that poncho in case you get an afternoon shower. Weather forecasts are under each date on the Crowd Calendar for April as well!
- Average high temperature: 83°F
- Average low temperature: 59°F
- Mean temperature: 71°F
- Record high temperature: 97°F (1968)
- Record low temperature: 37°F (2001)
- Average Precipitation: 2.28 in.
Will the park hours for Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom be extended?
Disney usually releases preliminary hours, then adds hours the closer you get to your trip. You can expect that the park hours will be updated about 2 weeks prior to your trip. We will post here on the blog when that occurs.
Should I use Extra Magic Hours privilege? (Does not apply to 2021)
Avoid the trap of visiting a park on its longest hours day. More people will be there and the wait times can be 30% to 100% higher than other days.
If you are planning to use Extra Magic Hours, use the morning ones, they are a great benefit, if you leave after lunch or parade time. Avoid the parks that offer evening Extra Magic Hours because they have large crowds at night and many rides have long lines (Hollywood Studios and Epcot). The exception would be the Magic Kingdom late at night because most guests won’t stay up from 1am to 3am in the morning. If you choose a Late Extra Magic Hour park, you should plan to sleep in the next day.
A note on Fastpass+ Booking (Does not apply to 2021)Fastpass+ can be booked 60 days in advance for ONSITE guests and 30 days in advance forOFFSITE guests and Annual Passholders. You can begin booking them at 7am Eastern Time. The booking dates are included on my Disney Crowd Calendar below. |

Hi Kenny, the week of the 19th is April vacation week for schools in the Northeast? Is this really an accurate prediction for this week?

Not all schools in the Northeast have vacation that week.

I notice that MK is always Red on a Wednesday. what is the reasoning for this? will it be unbearable on a “yellow overall day” ?

I’ve noticed you have Hollywood Studios as a best park to visit on Monday 4/20/20…I had thought that perhaps a lot of people (like me) would be there for the Star Wars race weekend and use the first post-race weekend day to try for Galaxy’s Edge (since realistically on any day they are racing they won’t be able to get there early enough to try for Rise of the Resistance, at least). What is the rationale for 4/20/20 being a good day for Hollywood Studios –do you not expect any bump in attendance due to the race participants (I know some do their park days prior to the race weekend, which I don’t get!).

Overall attendance is found in the crowd level at the top of page. Best and worst parks are based on which parks crowds will flock to. Please understand that it doesn't mean that the park will be empty, just that it is a better choice than some other parks that day. Thanks!
