On May 12, 2017, Walt Disney World debuted its brand new fireworks show “Happily Ever After” at the Magic Kingdom. Keep reading for more information.
The Magic Kingdom just said goodbye to Wishes, the night before, in order to make way for a new fireworks show. Many were sad to see Wishes leave but, many were also excited to see what Disney would premiere in Happily Ever After.
Happily Ever After is an 18 minute long spectacular fireworks show that mixes fireworks, familiar music, and castle projections together for a wonderful display of all of our favorite Disney moments.
I am a child of the late ’90s and I grew up watching all of the Disney classics and making memories with the premier of each new Disney film. I was in awe, while seeing Happily Ever After for the first time, as I watched my childhood being broadcasted onto the castle in such a special way, surrounded by other Disney-lovers. There is an array of Disney movies included so don’t worry, anyone of any age will be able to get a peak at a Disney movie they know.
Happily Ever After combined the video aspect of the castle projection show “Once Upon A Time” with the traditional fireworks aspect of any Disney spectacular.
I took a video of the show if you’d like to see what you can expect to see during Happily Ever After:

Next time you’re in the Magic Kingdom, make sure to stick around for the Happily Ever After fireworks show. Who knows, you may see your favorite Disney character projected onto the castle or sing a long to your favorite Disney song!
Keep your eye out for the end because there’s a special surprise I think everyone will enjoy!

Kenny, would you be willing to show us what the show looks like from behind the castle? I am fully aware it's meant to be watched from the front, & I know projections will be missed, however with an elderly person on an ECV I need to be able to avoid Main Street on a crowded night in August. Thank you!
