Radio Flyer Brings Luke’s Landspeeder to Life at San Diego Comic-Con 2017

Radio Flyer Brings Luke’s Landspeeder to Life at San Diego Comic-Con 2017

A long, long time ago when I was a little “padawan learner” myself, I always dreamed of being apart of the Star Wars Universe. From reenacting my favorite lightsaber duels with my brother and sister to riding my bicycle as fast as I could imagining I was flying my very own X-Wing fighter in a battle against the Empire, Star Wars has always been and still is a galaxy I love to escape to. So naturally, when news came out of  San Diego Comic-Con yesterday of Radio Flyers incredible announcement, my inner child went crazy!

Not your typical red wagon, Radio Flyer has announced they will be expanding their battery-powered vehicle line to…get this… Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder! I know, I’m freaking out too! The vehicle is modeled after Luke’s X-34 Landspeeder from Star Wars: A New Hope and even though it is not a full size replication, Radio Flyer certainly did not cut corners on the details that bring it to life including a control panel of sound effects with lines from the movie and a top speed of about 5 miles per hour! ( I know, I thought Luke was going a lot faster too.)

This Landspeeder is a childhood dream come true, and for those of you already asking the most important question; unless you are under 130lbs this vehicle is one you will not enjoy from the cockpit. Yeah, bummed me out too. Nonetheless, this vehicle is quite impressive and a huge way to spoil your little padawan. The X-34 Landspeeder is available for pre-order at Toys R’ Us for $499.99, a price Watto would certainly approve of, and an expected ship date of September 5th, 2017.

I am off to find a way to make this Landspeeder a part of my everyday commute to Tosche Station, but in case you’re curious – here are the specifications released by Radio Flyer.

• Film-accurate design and detailing from Star Wars: A New Hope
• Seats for two riders
• Interactive dashboard with lights and real movie sounds
• Includes dialogue from the film: “Look it, there’s a Droid on the scanner. Dead ahead. Might be our little Artoo unit. Hit the accelerator!” – Luke Skywalker
• 12V rechargeable battery allows up to 5 mph
• Includes Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder™ by Radio Flyer, 12V rechargeable battery and charger
• For 4+ years
• Maximum weight: 130 lb.

How excited are you for Luke’s Landspeeder come to life? What Star Wars vehicle would you want to see come to life? Let me know in the comments!

May the Force be with you!
