Disney World Guests can now use Mobile Order with the Disney Dining Plan!

For the last several months Disney World has been rolling out the “Mobile Order” platform for the My Disney Experience application.  It allowed guests to save a great deal of time when ordering and pick up food at Quick Service restaurants.  The caveat was that you had to pay with a credit card.  Guests can now use their Disney Dining Plan credits!  Here’s a preview:

You select your restaurant, select your menu items, customize your order as needed.   You then arrive at the restaurant and tell the application “I’m here” and the kitchen will prepare your food to order on the spot.  It allows you to bypass the lengthy ordering lines.  Until today, you had to use a Credit Card for the purchase.

Now, you can use the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan, the Disney Dining Plan or the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan to “pay” for your order.

To access Mobile Order, tap the “Order Food” button under “My Plans” in the app. Watch the video below to see the convenience of using Mobile Order with a Disney dining plan – whether you’re redeeming a snack credit for a Dole Whip at Aloha Isle or a quick-service credit for a Pandoran feast at Satu’li Canteen.

It also allows you to use your Dining Plan snack credits at a Quick Service location when ordering a dessert!

How will this work with more than one reservation linked to a MDE and trying to pay with dining credits? I don’t think I will have access to use my parents dining credits to pay if using mobile ordering?

This is a great question, and I have not found the answer yet. Hopefully, someone will be using it soon and report back.
