Walt Disney World management has confirmed that Rafiki’s Planet Watch also known as the Conservation Station will close on October 21, but they plan to reopen the area in Spring 2019.
It’s unknown what work will occur, if any, in the Conservation Station area while the zone is closed to guests. It’s been stated that they will make some changes to guest experiences in the Conservation Station.
We will wait and see if any details are released or changes will occur during this downtime.

I’m glad it will reopen but it will be too late for us as we will be there in November. So disappointed we won’t be able to experience it.

I really like the conservation station and find the staff there to be very dedicated to the area. We especially loved meeting LJ on our last trip, and she helped us hunt for hidden mickeys in Rafiki’s Planet watch. I think it’s a great place for young ones to learn and have something to do while the teens or adults in your party are off riding Everest or Flight of Passage. I know that people are always look for rides ride rides, but it is refreshing to be able to focus on educational content from time to time.
