Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is just a ferry boat away from Magic Kingdom, but it feels like you’re miles away from a theme park as you enter the majestic lobby, inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges.
Picture Tour of Wilderness Lodge
Take a photo tour here without leaving the comfort of your own home! Although, if given the chance, I hope you’ll take the time to see the decorations and take in the ambiance in person.
Indoor Geyser
There’s even a “geyser” with a stream that begins from inside the lobby and continues outside. What? Yes, really. It was a unique feature for any hotel!
Gingerbread Cabin
For the first year ever, Wilderness Lodge has added an adorable Gingerbread Cabin to its Christmas decor! We were lucky enough to visit, and get a closeup of this one-of-a-kind log cabin!
Goodies For Sale
In addition to the cozy cabin, Wilderness Lodge set up a display offering a variety of Christmas treats and souvenirs for sale.
Humphrey is the unofficial mascot of the Wilderness Lodge and has an endearing following. This limited edition pin features a hinge that opens to reveal Humphrey decorating the cabin.

This kiosk also offers the Wilderness Lodge version of the Resort Holiday Bell Collection featuring Chip & Dale. I couldn’t resist buying a Chip & Dale Limited Edition Pin! Center rotates between Chip & Dale And “Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.”
What Goes Into Making the Gingerbread Cabin?
In case you’re wondering what it takes to make your own Wilderness Lodge Gingerbread Cabin, Disney provides the recipe! (Can you imagine loading all this in your kitchen??)
Hidden Mickeys
Details abound at every corner, including an abundance of colorful poinsettias at the base and used for dainty details throughout the cabin. Can you spot a hidden Mickey??
I love how the Gingerbread Cabin blends in with the Wilderness Lodge natural wood. Disney added greenery to all sides of the Cabin which adds to the festive display.
Poinsettias are added as details throughout the Gingerbread Cabin. My favorite is the red and white Mickey wreath.
Delightful Details
Attention to detail is what sets Disney apart, and this Gingerbread Cabin is no exception. Chip and Dale warming by the fire appears to be made out of candy/fondant. They are entirely too cute to eat though!!
Wilderness Lodge included Mickey and the gang gathering their Christmas tree also. Wish I could join them on their adventure!
I hope you can experience the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas. There really is something magical about it!!
