Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park Set to Host Multi-Day Celebration in Honor of Earth Day

Our Earth is certainly worth celebrating, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a multi-day event in store to honor our planet. Read on to find out all the terra-ific details, includng a special meal experience wth Joe Rohde!

From April 18-22, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will host special entertainment and activities throughout the park, leading to an all day celebration on April 22 for Earth Day. Included are expert speakers and entertainment, behind-the-scenes tours, and specialty food and beverages. Plus, limited-edition merchandise and signings, character greetings, photo opportunities, special Wilderness Explorers activities for kids and more!

Wild by Nature Series

You will get to hear from some of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s animal experts, educators and conservation “Heroes” in the Wild by Nature Speaker Series, which will be located at the park’s Theater in the Wild. Be prepared to learn about the ways Disney’s own conservation experts are working to save the planet and its wildlife.





Disney has also invited National Geographic Explorers and Photographers to share their stories from the front lines of explorations, as well as wildlife photography and video techniques. They will be showcasing what it takes to get their “never-before-seen” images and footage. They will join the Wild by Nature Speaker Series and Disney will also debut National Geographic merchandise at the parks that week as well.

Tiffins Talks

Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde will speak with guests at his Tiffin Talks, which will feature a four-course meal and discussion of Joe’s research trips and personal exhibitions from a life dedicated to exploration. Registration for this dining experience will begin on February 18.

Disney Conservation Fund

Earth Day 2020 will also mark the 25th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund. The Walt Disney Company is committed to ensuring a world where wildlife thrives and nature is treasured, and the Disney Conservation Fund is a big part of that effort.

The Disney Conservation Fund will showcase 25 global wildlife heroes, many of whom will present Stories from the Field and share incredible moments in their work, saving at-risk wildlife around the world.

Many of these stories will be featured in “Disney Conservation Legacy,” a new special edition book, which will be available to purchase in the park during the Earth Day celebration.

Animation Experience

At the Animation Experience at Conservation Station, you can see how Disney animators bring your favorite characters to life, using real animals as inspiration. There will also be special Disney characters featured for the Earth Day celebration!

And even if you can’t make to the parks for Earth Day, Disney + will debut two Disneynature films: Elephant and Dolphin Reef. Included will be discussions with Roy Conli, the award-winning producer of both films.

On April 22, “BORN WILD: EARTH DAY LIVE,” will be simulcast on National Geographic and Nat Geo WILD at 8/7c. The television show was produced along with ABC News, the special features revered National Geographic Explorers and leading ABC news anchors and correspondents who promise to take viewers on a journey into the most fascinating, breathtaking environments around the world to witness the diversity and splendor of charismatic baby animals, their families, and habitats.
