Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is set to debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 4th, 2020. Are you eager to know more about this wacky new attraction where “mouse rules apply?” We have a brief look for you!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a brand new attraction set to debut on March 4th. It will be the first in Disney history to feature Mickey Mouse himself!
This attraction features new 2 and 1/2D technology designed to give depth to 2D environments and create a 3D effect without glasses.
We’ll join our favorite couple, Mickey and Minnie, as they set off on a “Perfect Picnic” date. Guests will board a train with none other than Goofy as our conductor.
Goofy is the Runnamuck Railroad Employee of the Month. What could possibly go wrong?
Well lots, actually. With Goofy in charge, anything can happen.
Cast Members have been busy previewing Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Now, thanks to our friends at Mousesteps, we have our own brief “preview.”
*SPOILER: There is a video and scene-by-scene descriptions of the ride! Look no further if you want to be completely surprised!
Let’s take a look.
As the video begins, we see the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway sign all lit up, welcoming us to the Chinese Theater.
The queue features posters of the Mickey Shorts that the attraction was inspired by. We were not granted a peek at the Fastpass+ queue yet, so no word on whether the posters will be featured in that line as well.
As the ride gets underway, it appears as though the locomotive holds four rows of about four people across.
As we make our way into a tunnel, the surrounding scenery is quite vibrant and colorful, and Mickey and Minnie are zooming by in the car and head towards a tunnel of their own.
It certainly feels like we’ll be transported into the cartoon world!
The scene switches and we appear to now be in an underground train tunnel. Mickey and Minnie speed alongside us, and we get a glimpse at our conductor, Goofy.
Mickey and Minnie kindly ask Goofy to take good care of their friends, to which Goofy replies “they’re with me, what could go wrong?”
Oh boy!
I can’t wait to see exactly what does go wrong when “mouse rules” apply!
This preview left me anxiously awaiting more! I am so very excited for the premiere of this attraction, the first of its kind and the first ride featuring the one who started it all, Mickey Mouse.
