Happy March! There are many events, activities, and other happenings taking place at Disney World in March 2020. Here’s your snapshot!
With a new month comes new activities and things to look forward to at Disney World in March 2020! We’ve got the beginning of Spring Break crowds, a new attraction, Flower and Garden Festival, and so much more!
Crowd Calendar
If you haven’t done so yet, check out Kenny’s free crowd calendar for March 2020, which can be found HERE. With Spring Break crowds arriving, it’s imperative to be familiar with his predictions and recommendations. All of March and part of April are known to be extremely busy times to visit Disney World.
Kenny’s crowd calendar is unique in that he uses colors to organize his best/worst parks. If you follow them, the Spring Break crowds will not bother you one bit!
As we all know, park hours are updated frequently. If you are traveling to Disney World in March 2020, be sure to check the crowd calendar for any updated operating hours!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be opening its newest attraction this month as well. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will debut on March 4!
There has been a lot of excitement for Mickey and Minnie’s first-ever ride, and it will surely bring the crowds. We’ve also been given a brief look of the ride itself, which you can see HERE.
If you can’t be at the park in person to witness the dedication ceremony, you can view it from home!
If you are hoping to experience Rise of the Resistance while at Hollywood Studios, you will need a good plan. Follow our complete guide to boarding groups to help you! You should also know the rope drop procedure has changed for Toy Story Land.
Best of luck to those of you heading to Hollywood Studios in March 2020!
Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival
Also coming to Disney World in March 2020 is the beginning of Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival! It will run into June 2020.
Hailed as the most beautiful of all the Epcot festivals, Flower and Garden features gorgeous scenery, a rocking concert series, delicious food, and special tours.
We have compiled the most complete guide to help you navigate Flower and Garden Festival. The full menus, list of topiaries and tours, and information about Garden Rocks dining packages are just a few of the things we cover in our guide. I promise you will need nothing else to help you plan your day at Epcot (besides Character Locator of course)!

Refurbishments
Thankfully, many of the major attraction refurbishments have already been completed, and there are no new ones scheduled for March 2020 at Disney World.
Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen to guests on March 21! This is great news for those of you who want to get wet on vacation! It has been closed since January 6, making this a rather lengthy refurbishment.
Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to reopen on March 29. Most of the Spring Break crowds will have to go to Blizzard Beach instead.
Until March 20, 2020, the beach pool water play area at the Grand Floridian Resort will undergo refurbishment. Guests can use the pool amenities at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
Work will continue at All Star Music until April 2020. The check-in area is currently being updated, but there will still be accommodations for guests needing to use Guest Services.
