More Evidence for an April 2020 Opening Date for Space 220

After several days, there is more evidence that Space 220 will open next month. Epcot’s newest restaurant promises to be out of this world!

Can you believe we are still talking about the opening of Space 220? Originally set to open sometime in the winter of 2019, the new restaurant in Epcot has experienced delay after delay.

Delays

Most recently, we reported a month ago that the new date Space 220 was pushed back from March 30 to a date in April. Apparently, a large pane of glass was broken during construction.

The new window is a custom item that would take 8 weeks to special order. It was also reported that the roof may need to be removed to install it. If this had to happen, the new rumored date was April 6.

We now have more evidence that Space 220 will open in April 2020.

Next month, Patina Restaurant Group (PRG) is set to launch into space with the opening of Space 220 inside EPCOT Center, creating everlasting magic in the city known for doing just that. The 375-seat restaurant is inspired by the cosmos, and to anchor their tabletop specification in a space with so much gravity (or lack thereof?), PRG’s procurement team selected the ultra-sleek Tilia pattern, in black.

It seems as if the bulk of the article was discussing design and flatware choices for the restaurant (my language is Disney, not restaurant). Either way, we now have more evidence that the new opening date for Space 220 will take place in April 2020.
