Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt 2020

Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt 2020

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival began on March 4, 2020 and guests are a buzz with excitement for this year’s scavenger hunt. Spike the Bee has been “buzzy” getting things ready and can be found all throughout the World Showcase. Find out how you can spot him and receive a great keepsake in the end.

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

This is one of my favorite festivals that is hosted by Epcot. The beautiful topiaries, wonderful food, and great music are all great reasons to visit Epcot this spring. The Flower and Garden festival began March 4th and will continue through June 1st.

Monica provided a great overview of this festival that will help you enjoy so many great offerings at this festival. You can read all about it HERE.

Spike The Bee Merchandise

Spike the Bee, also sometimes referred to as Buzz-Buzz, was popular in the 1940’s and 1950’s cartoons where he could be found comically pestering Donald Duck.

This year he has returned to Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. You can bring home your own Spike the Bee and enjoy a refreshing beverage. Visit the Honey Bee-stro outdoor kitchen to try the Honey-Peach Freeze in an adorable Spike the Bee sipper (while supplies last).

Passholders can also bring Spike the Bee home with this Passholder exclusive collectible mug and shirt.

Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration

Gardeners of all ages will be excited that Spike has been busy “pollen”ating this year’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. As with other Epcot festivals, a scavenger hunt is available that will have you searching for our favorite bee throughout the World Showcase.

Here is an example of the map from a few years ago:

The fun begins starts once you purchase your event map. Maps can be found at Port of Entry for $7.99. On one side of the map, you will see all of the various locations where Spike the Bee can be found hiding.

This year look for Spike at the following locations:

  • Kokedama Garden
  • Urban Spice Garden
  • Florida Fresh Garden
  • French Gardens
  • English tea Garden
  • The Honey Bee-Stro
  • Goodness Garden Butterfly House
  • Donald & Daisy Topiary
  • Wildlife Habitat
  • Family Fun Zone
  • Tropical Rainforest
  • Graden Italiano

On the opposite side of the map, you will find stickers to affix to your map to show where Spike the Bee was hiding.

Prize

After searching for Spike around The World Showcase, simply show your map to a Cast Member at the Port of Entry. You will be able to choose one of four adorable tumbler cups (while supplies last).

They are absolutely adorable and you may be purchasing additional maps to bring them all home.
