Do you find yourself dreaming of the “Happiest Place on Earth?” Disney is helping us keep hope alive and to keep believing that “There Is A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” with the help of a few famous narrators. Find out who will be sharing stories of magic, bravery, and strength.
Josh Gad
We shared with you before that Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, would be reading children’s books on Twitter to bring a bit of normalcy and fun to others during this time of social distancing.
He has shared such stories as The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and Olivia Goes To Venice by Ian Falconer.
My children have loved listening to these beloved classics read by a familiar and friendly voice. Disney has brought us a couple of familiar voices to share stories with us.
Ming-Na Wen
Disney asked Ming-Na Wen, the voice of Mulan, to read us a story that is absolutely perfect for her. She beautifully reads A Place For Mulan written by Marie Chow. Ming-Na even brings a few favorite friends along for the story.
Ming-Na takes time to explain the letters of the Chinese alphabet and shares that like Mulan in the story, even she has sometimes disappointed her parents.
The beautiful message of this story is to be true to who you are. This is such an encouraging message to princes and princesses both young and even those who are not so young.
John Stamos
John Stamos has shared that he is a huge Disney fan and starred as Chef Louis in “The Little Mermaid Live.”
Stamos reads a wonderful story that was new to our family entitled A Kiss Goodnight written by Richard Sherman and Brittany Rubiano. This book was originally based on the song “A Kiss Goodnight” written for Walt Disney by Richard Sherman. Sherman is a musical Disney legend and he has written soundtracks for many of our favorite Disney classics.
This book shares that Walt Disney was always enchanted by fireworks and his dream was to send each guest home with a “Kiss Goodnight.” One of my family’s favorite things to do at the end of our day at Magic Kingdom is to watch Cinderella Castle illuminate and to hear the beautiful farewell to a day of memories made.
Join John Stamos as he reads this classic and may this reading fill us with hope. Hope that although we are apart for a time, we will once again join together in the Castle Hub and stare up at the night sky and experience the fireworks that inspired Walt Disney.
