Earth Day is quickly approaching, and the staff at Disney’s Animal Kingdom gears up to offer us many great ways to honor our earth, learn about conservation, and even chat with Dr. Mark Penning.
Earth Day
April 22, 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This is a day for us to all pause and reflect on ways that we can promote sustainability for both people and animals alike as well as promote clean living.
Disney has served as a model in regard to conservation and the healthy care of animals.
Walt Disney once said, “Conservation isn’t just the business of a few people. It’s a matter that concerns all of us.”
Magic of Nature
Throughout the month of April Disney will be encouraging both Disney fans and lovers of animals together through the magic of the world around us.
Disney’s Conservation Efforts
Daily, even while the Disney Parks are closed, Disney staff care for thousands of animals across Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney resorts. Learn more interesting facts about the animals that reside at Animal Kingdom.
Disney works to conserve water resources, and they reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and waste throughout their Disney Park properties. The goal of the Walt Disney Company is not simply to share nature but to also “protect the magic of nature.”
New Baby Animals at Animal Kingdom
We have shared with you the new arrivals that have been occurring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge recently with both a Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra and a Sitatunga Calf.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom they recently welcomed a porcupine and a Hartmann’s Zebra foal.
