The Re-open Florida Task Force is meeting today for the first time, and plans to reopen tourism spots to Florida residents first will be discussed. Full details below.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis has assembled his re-open task force to help reopen the state. On the team is president of Disney World parks, Josh D’Amaro. DeSantis praised Disney for being “ahead of the curve” regarding safety precautions and policies that may be put into place for when the parks do reopen.
“It’s amazing the ideas that the businesses are already thinking about. They’ve been thinking deeply about this for weeks and weeks… there’s a lot of great ideas that I’ve already seen put on the table. I’m in discussions with places like Disney. They are so far ahead of the curve, and I think everyone wants to make sure we do it safely.“ – Ron DeSantis
Apparently one of those ideas being thought about is the possibility of local theme parks reopening first to Florida residents.
According to Spectrum News 13, the task force will be talking a little later on Wednesday about how to eventually re-open places like Disney World. And when it happens, it will have to be a gradual, careful reopening to keep everyone safe.
Those task force members charged with re-opening state tourism are already discussing a plan that would include first local and state residents heading to state attractions, then national and international visitors.
Governor DeSantis wants these recommendations of how and when Florida tourism could reopen by the end of the week.
With tourism being the biggest economic driver in Florida, it is easy to see why the state is eager to get up and running again. Safety still remains their highest priority despite this.
With 22 business and economic leaders on the task force, there were will hopefully be some effective and creative solutions to keep guests healthy.

It would make no sense not to open all parks to help spread people out, also Epcot has the most open space...

I doubt they would open one park per day. It would make schedules a nightmare.
