We are all waiting to hear the proposal that all of the theme parks are to present to the government concerning their reopening protocols and a proposed opening date. As we anticipate when the Disney Parks may reopen, some guests received unfortunate news regarding their upcoming trips.
Disney Springs Reopening
We were all very excited to see the partial reopening of Disney Springs yesterday. There were added safety protocols in place such as temperature screenings and mandatory use of face coverings except when dining. Read all about these updated safety protocols HERE.
But even with added safety measures, the spirits were still high with guests and Cast Members.
“Small Step” Reopening of Disney Springs
We shared with you from Chief Executive Officer, Bob Chapek, that the reopening of Disney Springs is one of many “small steps” to reopen the Disney Parks.
Disney fans both young and young at heart are taking this reopening as a positive sign that the Disney Parks will be reopening sooner rather than later. Read more about this interview with Chapek HERE.
Cancellations
With all the positive news regarding the Disney Springs reopening yesterday, many Disney guests were disappointed to receive an email this morning of vacation cancellations.
Guests with resort reservations at Walt Disney World and Disneyland for the week of June 7-13, 2020 would need to reschedule their stay for a later time.
We understand the feelings of disappointment that these families are probably experiencing this morning due to this cancellation notice. We are hoping that they may be able to reschedule their vacation.
Although cancellations are never fun, we have a great post of ways to bring a bit of Disney Park magic home form one of our writers who had her family vacation canceled earlier this year. Be sure to check out 10 Ways to Recreate Disney Vacations at Home.
When do you think the Disney Parks will reopen? Do you think this may be the last cancellation email before the Parks reopen? Have you and your family had to reschedule your Disney vacation? How have you recreated Disney Park memories at home. Share your ideas with us on Facebook.
