As we know, Disneyland is scheduled to open on July 17, 2020. Today it was announced that certain Star Wars events have been postponed. Read on to see if your plans have been changed.
Star Wars fans have probably been looking forward to Star Wars Celebration that was to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 27-30.
The planned event would be a chance for fellow Star Wars fans and Star Wars celebrities to come together and celebrate all things Star Wars.
Many fans were probably wondering whether or not this event would still be held.
Star Wars Celebration
Today, Lucasfilm and Disney shared the following announcement:
It is rather disappointing to see yet another event canceled, but the health and safety of fans, guests, and employees is a priority.
Fans that were planning on attending were given the option to either transfer their current ticket purchase to the new event dates, or receive a refund or credit for Star Wars Celebration merchandise.
Lucasfilm and Disney go on to say, “as a token of our appreciation and to thank all Star Wars Celebration 2020 fans who choose to transfer their tickets to the 2022 show, we are excited to offer a free exclusive Star Wars Celebration stormtrooper character pin for all transferred tickets.”
Guests who would like to transfer their tickets or request a refund may do so here.
Star Wars Nite
Following the announcement of this event being postponed, it was also announced that Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is also postponed. The event was scheduled for August 27th, the same day Star Wars Celebration was to have taken place.
