KtP Disney World Attraction Tournament Recap and Winner Announced!

Our Disney World attraction tournament which has been so fun! We’ve encountered several close match-ups and upsets! Finally, we’ve come to a close in voting. Read here for a tournament recap and see which attraction is the CHAMPION in our tournament!

Can you believe we’ve gone through 5 rounds of voting in Disney World attractions? We had a blast creating this tournament and seeing which Disney World attractions Crew members voted for each game.

Tournament Set-Up

In creating the tournament, we choose 4 brackets for the Disney World attraction tournament. The first bracket was the classics. We chose to call this tournament the attraction tournament because Disney offers so much more than just rides.

Secondly, we have the Disney World shows bracket. Following the shows bracket is the thrills bracket. Last, but certainly not least, we chose the family bracket.

Thank you for participating in the Disney World Attraction Tournament. We had so much fun putting it together, and interacting with the KtP Crew!

Classic Attractions Bracket

We chose attractions that have withstood the test of time, and have been long-time favorites. One of the more challenging matchups included Peter Pan versus Pirates of the Caribbean in round 3. Pirates came out ahead!

The closest classic match-up came in round 2. Peter Pan (50.47%) barely edged out Peoplemover (49.53%) for the win!

Haunted Mansion is the winner of this bracket, and made it to the championship game.

Show Attractions Bracket

There are so many incredible performances at Disney World. We chose shows that have a permanent location with stadium or auditorium style seating for this bracket. The biggest upset in the shows category was Philharmagic defeating Lion King. Philharmagic is my favorite show in all of Disney World, and I was happy to see so many Crew members share my opinion.

There were a few close ones in the shows bracket. Two of our favorite shows, Tiki Room and Philharmagic were neck and neck until the end. Philharmagic (50.31%) barely squeezed out Tiki Room (49.69%) though in the end!

The winner of the shows bracket is Philharmagic.

Thrills Attractions Bracket

Most people love a thrill ride, and this was the most popular category based on poll numbers in the Disney World attraction tournament. The biggest surprise to me (Susan) was that Rise of the Resistance (45.69%) lost to Splash Mountain (54.31%) in the third round. The co-creator of this tournament (Jamie) pointed out that many people haven’t experienced Rise of the Resistance yet.

Can I just say that Rise is the best ride in the entire world?? I was fortunate enough to ride it re-opening week at Disney World, and was giddy the entire time!

The closest game in this bracket was Flight of Passage (51.95%) versus Big Thunder Mountain Railway (48.05%). I love riding Big Thunder at night.

Splash Mountain was the winner of this bracket.

Family Attractions Bracket

In the family bracket, we chose attractions that are loved by both the young and the young at heart. The biggest upset in this bracket is Toy Story Mania defeating Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Again, this occurred due to not many guests having the chance to experience it. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway gives guests a 4D experience with sight and sound effects that are cutting edge. My group was blown away when we rode it.

The most difficult attractions for the Crew to decide in the family bracket was Mad Tea Party versus Barnstormer. Mad Tea Party (51.20%) edged out Barnstormer (48.8%).

Toy Story Mania is the winner of this bracket and faced Haunted Mansion in the championship game.

Winner Announced

The Kenny the Pirate writer’s group made predictions about who would be the champions in the Disney World attraction tournament. With the crew, we saw many upsets as well as close match-ups. It was difficult narrowing down and choosing brackets for the best games.

But now, we’ve come to the end of our tournament. Here is the big news you’ve all been waiting for: the crew has chosen HAUNTED MANSION as the ultimate Disney World attraction!
