The Liberty Belle at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to undergo a refurbishment later this summer. Read on for details.
The Liberty Square Riverboat, the Liberty Belle, in the Magic Kingdom will go down for a brief refurbishment soon.
The Riverboat will be unavailable to guests from August 24 through August 30. It will be available again to guests on August 31.
Liberty Belle Ride around River
The Liberty Square Riverboat offers a relaxing 17 minute trip around Tom Sawyer Island.
During the ride, hear stories of American Author Mark Twain’s time in Mississippi while taking in the sights of Liberty Square and Frontierland.
Highlights of the tour include an early American settlement, a native American village, Harper’s Mill, Fort Langhorn, Wilson’s Cave inn, and a variety of woodland animals.
You’ll also be treated to great views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion.
About the Liberty Belle
The Liberty Belle riverboat is a 47 foot tall reproduction of the historic vessels that carried people up and down the Mississippi river.
The boat is powered by an actual steam engine that converts water from the river into steam. The steam powers the large paddle, which propels the boat.
The Liberty Belle riverboat is a nice way to take a break from the crowds at Magic Kingdom, but be mindful that seating is very limited.
Dessert Party with Parade Viewing
In previous years, the Liberty Belle hosted a dessert party for parade viewing! Tiana and Naveen greeted guests aboard the ship and posed for pictures. Tiana led the children in a dance around the boat.
When my (Rebecca’s) family did this party, Tiana and Naveen stayed on board the boat for the duration and mingled with guests! If they bring this back, I definitely recommend it!
