Disney Extends Flexible Cancellation Policy For Resort Hotels

Walt Disney World has just updated its temporary cancellation and modification policy for Resort stays to include arrivals through the end of 2020. Here are the details you need to know if you’re considering booking a trip this year.

If you’re considering taking a trip to Walt Disney World during 2020, you may be worried about booking a stay and having plans change unexpectedly.

Between travel advisories in different states, illness, and unexpected changes of plans, many travelers may be hesitant to book a Resort stay for fear that they will need to cancel and possibly be subject to cancellation fees.

Disney has updated their cancellation and modification policy so that Guests can have peace of mind when booking their next Disney vacation.

If a cancellation or modification needs to be made after booking, any Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees will be waived up to the date of check in for reservations with arrivals through the end of this year.

From Disney:

to provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through December 31, 2020.

If Guests need further assistance, they can reach us at the Disney Reservation Center through our online chat feature or by calling our reservation line

If you are currently booked at a hotel that is not scheduled to reopen, you must take action on your reservation!

Disney states “if no action is taken for impacted stays, Disney will automatically cancel your reservation within 7 days of the original check-in date and process any refund due to the original form of payment.”

This extension was previously only available through October 3, so Guests will now have additional flexibility if considering a stay later into 2020.
