One of our favorite shows is rumored to return to Disney World! Will you be checking it out on your next trip?
Shows Returning to Disney World
Entertainment shows are slowly beginning to return to Disney World theme parks. With a pretty intense negotiation between Disney and the Actor’s Equity Union settled, performers are heading back to work.
Most recently, The Frozen Sing-along Celebration returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Shows like the UP! Great Bird Adventure and Disney Junior Play and Dance have also reopened with modifications. Even the Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage was transformed into something different.
We also shared some indications that Festival of the Lion King may also reopen soon! Hand sanitizer stations are in place along with physical distancing markers. Hopefully we will have some official news regarding that show soon!
Finding Nemo the Musical
Finding Nemo the Musical is rumored to be returning to Animal Kingdom as well! Disney has not officially confirmed this.
Since seating is theater style, physical distancing will be required. Cast Members will likely alternate Guests into every other row and stagger so everyone is evenly spread out.
Never experienced this fun show?
Extraordinary live musical performances, delightful puppets, vibrant sets and wondrous underwater special effects immerse you in Nemo’s fin-tastic world. Join the overprotective clownfish Marlin and his forgetful friend Dory as they search for his son, Nemo.
The multiple Academy Award®-winning songwriting team behind Frozen and Coco, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, created 14 original songs just for this show—the first time a non-musical Disney animated feature has been transformed into an original musical production.
(From Disney World’s official description of the show).
What shows are still dark?
As I mentioned above, Festival of the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage are still dark as well as Turtle Talk with Crush at EPCOT. Additionally Indiana Jones and Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are not open either.
The Spirit of Aloha show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort are still dark, too.
These are just a few of the many entertainment cuts that have taken place at Disney World since reopening. We will continue to keep you posted when new shows return!
