A technical issue is to blame for the sudden and widespread increase in dining availability this morning. What will happen to these new bookings? We share our best guesses below.
Dining Availability
With the reopening of Disney World, everything was limited. Capacity, Park Passes, and dining options were capped in order to promote healthy and safe habits in the parks.
We have slowly seen more restaurants reopen in the theme parks due to increased crowds. People seem more comfortable visiting and confident in the steps Disney has taken to ensure a safe Guest experience.
With all that said, it can still be tricky finding dining reservations. This is especially true at character meals, like Topolino’s Terrace and Be our Guest. You can view the full list of character meals HERE.
Increased Availability
Just this morning, it appears Disney has dropped a ton of advanced dining reservations across the board for the rest of the year. I was able to easily snag dinner at Topolino’s Terrace because there were multiple times listed for the day I was looking for.
In the Kenny the Pirate Crew, we saw several reports of members snagging reservations for Garden Grill on Thanksgiving Day and Chef Mickey’s in December for the return of characters!
Good work, mates!
Disney Responds
Disney World Communications has shared the reasoning behind all of these open dining reservations.
A “technical issue” is to blame for the sudden and widespread increase in dining availability.
They are actively working to resolve this issue. If you were trying to grab your reservations after we shared the news this morning, you may have noticed that the dining reservation system is down.
What will happen to these new bookings?
Disney also shared that they are not adding dining capacity at Disney World restaurants. So, where does this leave all of the new reservations?
Disney World is not increasing capacity at Disney World restaurants.
Disney responded that would work with impacted Guests on a case-by-case basis. We are not exactly sure if that means they plan to contact every single person who made a dining reservation this morning. Or, they may intend to cancel all of them and then try to resolve the situation with anyone that inquires about their canceled reservation.
Keep an eye on those dining reservations, Crew! Let us know what happens to yours.
