Have you collected any of the Disney attraction McDonald Happy Meal toys? They will be saying “See Ya Real Soon” sooner than expected. Check out why and when they may be returning.
Attraction Inspired Toys
We shared that McDonalds would offer our favorite Disney Park attractions in their Happy Meals. Originally these were scheduled to debut late December and into early January. Read about all of these great attraction vehicles to be featured HERE.
Guests were delighted to discover that these new Disney Park attraction toys were available earlier than expected. Last week, we loved seeing photos from Disney fans both young and young at heart displaying their new Happy Meal toys. This was a great way to enjoy Disney Park attractions a little closer to home.
Toys No Longer Available
Yesterday, we heard rumors that McDonalds would be removing the Disney Park attraction toys from their dining locations. Today this rumor has been confirmed.
All McDonald locations are to stop distributing the Disney Happy Meal toys and to no longer use the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway inspired Happy Meal boxes.
This McDonald’s Restaurant Brief Alert explains the need for this:
“There is an issue with the QR codes that are packaged with the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway toys. If the codes are scanned outside of our app (versus the McDonald’s app as directed), they may lead users to an error message, or in rare cases, unintended search results.”
Disney park attraction ride toys are no longer available due to problems with the qr codes.
When Will They Return?
These QR codes were packaged with each toy to possibly win a vacation for four to Walt Disney World. Our understanding is that these toys will be redistributed once the QR codes have been removed from the packaging.
McDonalds will be distributing generic toys and standard boxes until the qr codes have been removed.
At this time, McDonalds will distribute generic toys from previous toy releases. They will also use the standard Happy Meal boxes at this time.
How many Disney Park attraction toys were you able to collect? Do you think they should still distribute these toys even with the QR code? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
