It has been 254 long days since we last saw fireworks exploding in the sky in Walt Disney World. Tonight, that has changed! Fireworks were spotted tonight in Disney World, and we couldn’t be more excited!
When Walt Disney World closed in March of 2020, we had no idea at the time that that would be the last time we saw nighttime entertainment of any kind in Walt Disney World for a very long time.
When the parks began reopening in July with a focus on health and safety, many changes to the parks operations went into effect.
One of the harder to swallow changes was the temporary pause in nighttime entertainment. Meaning: no more fireworks, for now.
Recently, we learned Disney would be testing fireworks in Magic Kingdom – possibly for the 50th anniversary in 2021.
The testing happened after hours, but gave many of us hope that we would soon see the return of nighttime entertainment.
Otherwise, the skies have been quiet. Until tonight!
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Spotted
Tonight in Magic Kingdom, Guests were treated to quite a surprise while viewing the varying projections on Cinderella Castle.
As the projections transition between designs, there have been short firework “bursts” going off and lighting up the sky!
Instagram user procurandoemoralndo posted this video of the fireworks going off tonight.
The Portuguese text translated into English reads:
Who said there would be no more fireworks at #castelodacinderela Every 15 minutes there is a change in projection and fires. Too beautiful!! We were homesick! Comment if you liked it and mark your friend who was also waiting for the fireworks to return
These beautiful firework bursts give us so much hope that we will soon see the return of other nighttime entertainment, such as Happily Ever After!
