Check Out this Newly Refurbished Entrance for a Classic Attraction

The Walt Disney Company continues to refurbish attractions and one Opening Day attraction just had its big reveal. Check out the newly refurbished entrance to this timeless classic attraction.

Current Refurbishments

Across Walt Disney World, we have seen many attractions and rides closed for refurbishment. Currently the easiest to spot would be at the very entrance to Magic Kingdom. Guests wishing to snap a photo before entering the Magic Kingdom will discover that a temporary facade now surrounds the Walt Disney Railway on all sides.

The People Mover is another great attraction that has been affected for a very long refurbishment. Check out the details of this extensive refurbishment HERE. Another notable refurbishment in the Magic Kingdom is found at the Rivers of America. This refurbishment affects both the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyers Island.

it’s a small world

“it’s a small world” was created for the 1964 New York’s World Fair. The original name for this attraction was “Children of the World.”

The original soundtrack for this ride was to be the national anthems from around the world. As you can imagine, this lacked both harmony and the magic that we have come to know and love with this Disney classic attraction.

The Sherman brothers, who wrote many of the legendary Disney soundtracks, brought to us a simple song similar to “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” that would be simple, yet catchy enough to have you singing well after your voyage has ended.

This Opening Day attraction recently received a much needed refurbishment. We absolutely love the bright new paint hat will have you ready to enjoy the “Happiest Cruise To Ever Set Sail.”

Big Reveal

Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom recently, noticed that the entrance for it’s a small world had moved to the FastPass entrance for all Guests. Scaffolding was cleverly concealed behind a temporary facade. Many Guests, including myself, were curious as to what the entrance to this classic attraction would look like.

Today, Kenny the Pirate saw a big reveal now that the temporary facade has been removed. The new entrance is now functional and so vibrant.

This is, without a doubt, one of my family’s favorite attractions in the Magic Kingdom. I can’t wait to see this beautiful new refurbishment in person. From the gleaming golden accents, to the rich bold colors, this attraction is simply stunning.

the main entrance is now accessible to all guests for it’s a small world.

From the opposite view of the attraction entrance, you can still spy the covered scaffolding in the far right of the photo featured below. We can’t wait to see the full view of this timeless attraction.
