Recently, one of our writers, Maggie, woke up in the beautiful Riviera Resort to find some interesting news. Her Resort television channel alerted her to this change:

“Disney Skyliner Update: Disney Skyliner to Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Caribbean Beach will be unavailable Sunday, January 24 due to maintenance. Please use Disney bus transportation to travel to the Theme Parks.”

Check out all the details on this closure here.

Normally, the Disney Bus transportation lines can be lengthy due to the Disney’s social distancing guidelines. However, when the Disney Skyliner is unavailable, these lines can become even longer!

This morning, guests report seeing signs for extended Disney Skyliner downtime. As a huge fan of the Skyliner, I would be so disappointed!

Now, Disney Skyliner signs state “In order to perform planned maintenance, the following Disney Skyliner lines will be unavailable on select days.”

Check out which days are unavailable here:

  • Sunday, January 24: Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation
  • Tuesday, January 26: Disney’s Hollywood Studios line
  • Thursday, January 28: EPCOT International Gateway line

Unfortunately, when the lines leading to Disney Theme Parks are down, this affects all Resorts with Skyliner access. As a result, guests are advised to take Disney World bus transportation. In addition, guests staying at EPCOT Resorts can take the Friendship Boat Service.

Will these downtime affect your vacation? Are you sad about the monorail lines or Skyliner maintenance? Also, let us know on Facebook, or join our KtP Crew and continue the discussion!
