More dining news: another restaurant in the Magic Kingdom will be closed on weekdays. Does this change affect your day in the park?
Dining Closures
As holiday crowds die down and weekdays become less busy than weekends, Disney is closing certain restaurants.
Just a few days ago, we learned that The Lunching Pad would be closed during the week. The quick-service restaurant serves up hot dogs, pretzels, snacks, and more over in Tomorrowland. It was also one of the few places where you could grab a Cheshire Cat Tail.
The Lunching Pad will close Mondays-Thursdays but will operate Fridays-Sundays.
Tomorrowland Terrace
Tomorrowland Terrace also joins The Lunching Pad in reducing hours during the weekdays. Beginning February 1, it will not be open for Guests during the week. However, if you are visiting Friday-Sunday, you can fuel up there.
Beginning March 8, Tomorrowland Terrace is expected to reopen 7 days a week.
You may remember that this restaurant recently reopened to accommodate the increase in holiday crowds. It served up fare from Columbia Harbour House, which has been not reopened at all. If you’re looking for your lobster rolls, you’ll have to plan a trip to Magic Kingdom during the week.
Will any other restaurants follow this trend?
So, The Lunching Pad and Tomorrowland Terrace are not serving Guests during the week? Will any other restaurants follow suit?
We know that weekends are consistently busier than weekdays (take a look at the park pass reservation system for clues). It’s possible we may see more weekday closures as Disney continues to evaluate the park situation.
Other quick-service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom that are currently open include:
- Aloha Isle
- Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Cookies
- Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
- The Friar’s Nook
- Gaston’s Tavern
- Liberty Square Market (currently closed for refurbishment)
- The Lunching Pad (closed weekdays beginning February 1)
- Main Street Bakery
- Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
- Pinocchio Village Haus
- Sleepy Hollow
- Storybook Treats
- Sunshine Tree Terrace
