A restaurant in the World Showcase at EPCOT is going to be closing temporarily while refurbishment work is completed. Have your dining plans changed due to this closing? Let us know in the comments!
Refurbishments
The last few days have brought a lot of refurbishment news, so here is a quick re-cap:
Mad Tea Party will be closed for a weeks later this month.
Swiss Family Treehouse will close in March for a two-week refurbishment.
Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island will open earlier than expected.
A recent permit suggests the Main Street Firehouse will receive some work.
Disney is preparing for the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom by refurbishing many of the attractions. While it is unfortunate these may be closed during your upcoming trips, it is also necessary for the major crowds that will be flocking to Disney World later this year. World Showcase Refurbishment
Today, another refurbishment is taking place – this time at a restaurant in the World Showcase. Yes, even restaurants have to close sometimes to complete some necessary work.
Rose & Crown Dining Room is a table-service restaurant in the UK Pavilion, and it will close for refurbishment. This family-friendly restaurant/pub (yes, a real pub!) features traditional favorites. Guests can dine on fish and chips, bangers and mash, and more.
I have never eaten here because I usually just grab some fish and chips from Yorkshire County. I do tend to snack around the World, grabbing a little something to eat from every pavilion I visit. Do you like to do the same?
Rose & Crown Dining Room will be closed beginning February 17. The only timeline we have for an end date is “sometime this early spring.”
UPDATE: The refurbishment will begin sooner than previously announced – it now closes on February 15.
Alternative Plan
Like I mentioned above, Yorkshire County Fish Shop also has fish and chips so if you are craving some British food, plan to stop there.
Now, I can’t stop thinking about those fish and chips…
