One relaxation station has closed and a new one has opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Get the full details here.
Relaxation Stations
With the mask requirements at Disney World, Guests have a place to safely take off their face coverings in the theme parks. Since you cannot take your mask off unless you are stationary and eating/drinking, these designated areas are the solution.
Magic Kingdom has a designated area at the Golden Oak Outpost between Frontierland and Adventureland. There is also one at Pete’s Silly Sideshow over in the Fantasyland area. This one is the best because it’s indoors! Air conditioning is a real blessing.
EPCOT has 3 relaxation stations spread out throughout the theme park. The first location in Future World near Test Track and Mission: SPACE. Guests strolling through the World Showcase can also take a rest break at the relaxation station near the United Kingdom pavilion. Follow the path behind Yorkshire County Fish Shop to the water. EPCOT’s only indoor relaxation station is found inside Akershus at the Norway Pavilion.
Animal Kingdom provides guests with 2 relaxation areas. Pizzafari is closed to dining, and provides the only indoor mask-free area within Animal Kingdom. Another relaxation station can be found in Asia at the Upcountry Landing. This is one of my favorite locations to eat since its right on the water.
Finally, Hollywood Studios has a relaxation station at Star Wars Launch Bay. This one is indoors and nicely spread out. Up until today, there was one inside Batuu. However, that brings us to our most recent change.
Galaxy’s Edge Relaxation Station Closes
The outdoor relaxation station is no longer open in Galaxy’s Edge. This space is now used for the queue to enter Black Spire Outpost Market.
So, where is the new relaxation station you ask? None other than the theater of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! The show has been closed since the reopening of Disney World parks more than 6 months ago. There is no start date in sight so Disney is using this space for Guests to relax and take off masks.
Since this seating area is so big it allows people to safely distance themselves from other parties and take a break from the heat, the walking, and the masks.
You can see the signs marking which benches are not available, and many of the props and equipment are covered. I, for one, welcome this change! The covered theater with bench seating wins out over standing under umbrellas.
