Disney Issues Response to New Sales of Annual Passes

This morning, UK Guests were able to purchase new Disney World annual passes. Disney has now responded to this news.

Annual Passes

This morning, UK residents were able to purchase new Annual Passes. Right now, 3 year olds whose family currently have Annual Passes and those who canceled their passes during the closure can purchase new ones.

We shared a screenshot showing that they could be purchased. Check it out below.

Included is:

  • Admission for a year to all 4 theme parks (no blockout dates)
  • Visit more than one theme park on the same day
  • Includes Disney PhotoPass downloads
  • Up to 20% off on select dining
  • Up to 20% off select merchandise in store
  • Standard theme park parking

A Glitch?

According to comments on our Facebook page, people in the United Kingdom were able to purchase them this morning. However, it now appears that this was not supposed to happen.

Disney claims the website is out-of-date and they are actively working to update it. It’s possible that Disney realized the error after purchases were made.

When will Annual Pass purchases resume?

Disney has paused new purchases in an effort to manage capacity with a focus on health and safety. Instead, they are choosing to focus on existing Passholders for the time being.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has recently commented on when he believes Disney will return to normal. Chapek said that the recovery of the theme park rests on the speed of the vaccine distribution and people’s readiness to travel. We know that with capacity and crowd levels increasing, people are becoming more comfortable with the idea of traveling again.

Hopefully, once masks and social distancing are relaxed on Walt Disney World property, Disney will resume the sale of new passes.
