Cool weather on Spring Break? It’s true, and it’s closing Disney’s Blizzard Beach.
Blizzard Beach
After a long year closed, Blizzard Beach recently reopened!
Blizzard Beach, known for such water attractions as Summit Plummet and Cross Country Creek, is a popular water park located on property at Walt Disney World resort. Since the start of the pandemic, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have both been closed.
Disney announced some some updates to the way things operate to keep safety and health at the forefront of everyone’s experiences. Reduced capacity, temperature screenings, physical distancing markings, and face coverings are required.
Face coverings are required in designated areas for guests ages 2 and up, including areas such as the park entrance and exit, retail areas, and food and beverage ordering areas. Face coverings are not required while experiencing water slides or while in the water.
Currently, park reservations will not be required to visit a water park. This, however, is subject to change. Keep reading kennythepirate.com for more information as it comes available.
Cooler Weather
I didn’t think it was possible for a Florida water park to close due to cool weather in April, but it’s happening.
Blizzard Beach will close Friday, April 2 because of the forecasted weather. Temperatures are supposed to get down to the 40s on Thursday evening. Brr!!! While it may be a bit cool for water park attractions, I’m sure the cold front will be welcomed by those visiting the theme parks this week!
If you already purchased tickets for Friday, April 2, you can go to Guest Relations to get a refund on your ticket.
Did you know Disney is actually offering discounted tickets for Blizzard Beach right now? That’s right, eligible Guests can save up to $20 on one-day admission to the water park. Head over HERE to get all the details.
