Some Walt Disney World Guests are seeing this free perk again

Some guests are seeing a fun complimentary perk again in their mailboxes! Are you one of them?

Since the pandemic, Walt Disney World guests have seen quite a few things taken away. We saw the end of complimentary Magic Bands given to resort guests. Magic Bands have not gone anywhere though! They are just offered at a discounted rate now, which you can read about here. They can also be bought in the parks and on shopDisney.

Another huge change we saw was a change in luggage delivery service for resort guests. Earlier in the year, many guests were disappointed to learn that Disney’s Magical Express will be ending at the end of 2021.

I (Maggie) don’t know about you, but all of those little perks for staying at a Walt Disney World resort really add to my vacation and make it that much more magical.

Another perk gone

At the end of 2020, we found out yet another perk would no longer be offered. As written in this post from December 29, 2020, “Beginning January 1, 2021, luggage tags and Walt Disney World Magical extras will no longer be mailed ahead of time to Guests booking a Disney Resort hotel reservation or vacation package.”

Though this complimentary perk was small, it was still a perk that many guests truly enjoyed! I know when I received them it was always a sign that my trip was getting closer.

It’s important to realize that luggage tags were not taken away completely from guests. You can still receive them from the Front Desk of your resort. The only thing that was stopped was receiving them through the mail ahead of your trip.

So, with that in mind, I (Maggie) was floored to see these bebes in my mailbox just the other day!

I thought these were a thing of the past! Is it possible that my time machine has finally worked? So many questions!

You may receive complimentary luggage tags arrive in the mail if you have booked a Walt Disney Travel Company package! Watch your mail!

I received two luggage tags with various vouchers for ESPN Wide World of Sports and Miniature Golf. I thought maybe the dates would be from 2020, but that is not the case. The vouchers are good from January 1, 2021- December 31, 2021.

Surely I cannot be the only lucky guest to receive these. We have not received any official statement from Disney confirming that this is indeed back. I think it’s also worth noting I had a trip scheduled this past January 2021 and did not receive any tags before our trip. My next trip is scheduled for mid-May.

It could just be a little pixie dust given in advance, too! If you receive any, count yourself lucky and enjoy the extra pixie dust.
