Extended Closure for this Popular Disney World Ride

Extended Closure for this Popular Disney World Ride

One of Disney World’s most popular rides is closed today after being down yesterday as well. See the full announcement here.

Extended Closure

It is not uncommon for many attractions at Disney World theme parks to close temporarily. Sometimes it can be as short as a few moments or it can last several hours.

One attraction that is experiencing problems lately is Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. It closed yesterday, May 2, a few hours after the park opened. The ride did not open for the rest of the day. Now, there is a new announcement on the My Disney Experience app this morning.

“On behalf of the entire team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I’d like to apologize that Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is currently unavailable. Our Cast Members have been working diligently to get the attraction up and running again, and we are sorry you are not able to experience this attraction at this time.

I hope you will enjoy some of our other attractions during your experience in the park today.”

This announcement from Sarah Riles, who is the Vice President of Animal Kingdom, popped up on the My Disney Experience app this morning (May 3).

When will Expedition Everest reopen?

Expedition Everest is one of my favorite rides in all of Disney World! It is one of the most thrilling coasters in any of the four theme parks. It was closed for the majority of the day yesterday, and there is no telling when it will reopen.

Hopefully it can reopen soon so that the Guests visiting today can experience this attraction! It would be disappointing to not get to ride one of the best attractions in Animal Kingdom.
