Every day it seems that we inch closer to things becoming more “normal” at Walt Disney World. Last night a new nighttime entertainment show was being tested at Walt Disney World. Will we soon be announcing the return of nighttime entertainment?
EPCOT Forever Testing
Earlier this week we shared that on May 10, 2021, Guests staying at the EPCOT area resorts could reportedly hear the music from EPCOT Forever playing. At this time fireworks were not included but simply music. Read more about this testing HERE.
EPCOT Forever was the temporary nighttime show that debuted in late 2019. This was temporary in nature as plans were set to debut the Harmonious nighttime show in Spring 2020.
That is why the testing of this temporary show, EPCOT Forever, had us excited but still a bit confused as to why it may be returning.
Harmonious
According to Disney Parks Blog, Harmonious is a global effort that embraces the spirit of EPCOT’s World Showcase. When it’s completed, it will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars Disney’s ever done.
In February we shared that Disney Imagineers are “setting the stage” by working on the shows five floating platforms. The floating platforms hold the Harmonious equipment to run the show.
According to Disney, these platforms will be positioned like a compass. Check out all of the amazing work and even a video of this show coming together HERE.
On May 12, 2021 Guests could hear music and light projections from EPCOT’s newest nighttime show, Harmonious, being tested.
Last night, Guests could hear music and see light projections as Harmonious was being tested at EPCOT. Check out this video shared on Scott Gustin’s twitter account:
We also have another brief video of this epic new nighttime show:
We can’t wait to experience Harmonious and to have nighttime entertainment return to Walt Disney World. Could this be a sign that Harmonious may be in the works to debut?
When do you think Harmonious may first debut? Do you think nighttime entertainment may return this summer at Walt Disney World? Do you think they may wait until the 50th Anniversary in October? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
