Disneyland has announced one of their safety protocols will be coming to an end. Read on to see the full details.
Temperature Screenings
Temperature screenings have been one of the safety protocols that have been in place since the reopening of Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
However, Walt Disney World has now phased out temperature screenings throughout all four of their theme parks.
They have also been eliminated in other theme parks such as Universal Studios Orlando, Legoland Florida, SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
Disneyland
In light of the recent advice from the CDC and local health officials, Disneyland will also be ending temperature screenings beginning on June 15th.
“Based on the advice of the CDC and our local health officials, and given Orange County is now in the yellow tier and the state of California is preparing to reopen the economy on June 15, we will end onsite temperature screenings at Disneyland resort for guests and cast members starting on June 15,” according to Disneyland officials. “We will continue to monitor the guidance of public health authorities and government agencies going forward and will make appropriate adjustments in the future based on that guidance.”
The Orange County Register
Temperature screenings will end at the Pixar Pals parking structure, eastside Harbor Boulevard entrance and westside Downtown Disney entrances.
Employees will also no longer have to undergo temperature screenings. However, they are expected to continue conducting at home health screenings.
Orange County California is currently at its least-restrictive yellow/minimal tier 4 level in Governor Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. He is hopeful that the state can safely reopen by June 15th.
Other Safety Protocols
Other safety protocols, such as facial coverings and physical distancing are still expected to stay in place at this time.
No further announcements have been announced, but we will update you on any news as soon as it is available!
As you may recall, Walt Disney World has recently modified their policy for facial coverings. Guests are no longer required to wear masks while outdoors.
Walt Disney World is slowly beginning to inch towards “normal” from day to day. Today, many relaxation stations are beginning to be eliminated from the park.
We are hopeful that Disneyland will also begin to follow once it is safe to do so.
What do you think of the elimination of temperature screenings at Disneyland? What safety protocol do you think will be next to be changed or eliminated? Tell us about it in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
