Disney World is SLOWLY returning to normal. With the reduction of physical distancing, the reopening of many Resorts and restaurants, and the new face covering guidelines, many Guests are eager for Disney to get back to the way it once was. Now, Disney has made a statement about one of the things many fans miss the most: character hugs.
Can I hug my favorite character?
One of the things that sets Disney World apart from other Theme Parks is the amazing interactions Guests have with their favorite characters.
After all, you can’t get a hug from Mickey just anywhere!
Disney has now made a statement regarding physical distancing and character meets.
We’re not quite ready to bring back everything yet, but we are optimistic and look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.
Disney is not quite ready for non-distanced character interactions. We are hoping they return sooner than later!
After all, Disney just isn’t the same without Mickey hugs!
Mickey hugs
Children (and lets be real, adults) love to meet their favorite Disney Pals, and collect their autographs through Character Meet and Greets.
I know for me, one of the things I’ve missed the most on my recent visits to Walt Disney World is getting a huge hug from Mickey!
With Disney’s latest statement that masks would be optional in most areas of Walt Disney World starting June 15, Disney also commented on physical distancing.
Physical Distancing
Disney was requiring parties to remain 6 feet away from other parties and Cast Members while in Disney World. Recently, we have seen the removal of many of the floor markings directing Guests to distance.
Disney is now relaxing physical distancing guidelines for Guests.
“This will be visible in places like queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation, and our theaters.”
We are making small steps towards the return to normalcy. Let’s hope for Mickey hugs, the return of Fastpasses, and fireworks very soon! Hey, we did get noodles back at ‘Ohana!
