There’s one mode of transportation that, until now, hasn’t removed physical distancing. And you either love it or you hate it! Check out the latest update here.
Physical Distancing Reductions
After a recent study suggests that social distancing requirement could be reduced from six feet to three feet, Disney changed their policy accordingly.
Although Disney’s website says that distancing guidelines will be decreased gradually with a phased approach, Disney made many changes quickly. Also, with increased capacity, Disney is setting up for additional crowds.
Extended queues and theaters for several attractions no longer have markers. Additionally, attractions (Rise of the Resistance) don’t have any markers on the ride itself.
Recent Announcement
Earlier this week, Disney announced that masks are no longer required in most areas for vaccinated Guests. Check out when this change begins here.
Disney stated character meet and greets will not be happening yet.
However, Disney is hopeful they will return sooner rather than later. Miss those Mickey hugs! Some Guests have received a survey from Disney asking about characters and what interactions may look like in the future. You can read more about that HERE.
Transportation Changes
Recently, the Disney Skyliner began allowing more than one party per gondola. After the reopening of the resorts and theme parks, Cast Members were only loading one party in each cabin to allow for physical distancing. This reduced wait times significantly for guests using the Skyliner.
Along with other modes of transportation, Disney World is also removing physical distancing markers on ferryboats. The markers in the queue lines and on the boats are also being removed.
Latest Transportation Development
Just this morning, we received word from guests that Disney buses are relaxing their physical distancing procedures. You heard that right! No more waiting forever for a bus.
Beginning today, all Disney buses will fill all seats!!
Also, Disney buses will allow up to 15 people to stand. We’re excited about this latest development to reduce physical distancing.
