Yikes! Heads up if you are at Disney today. Many attractions in all four theme parks are currently closed. You will be shocked when you look at my screenshots!
Closed Attractions
From time to time, Disney World attractions close for numerous reasons. It could be a power outage like we saw at Animal Kingdom last week or severe weather that makes it unsafe for attractions to operate.
It appears a major power outage may be the cause for many attractions closing at Disney World today, June 15. Many of these rides are indoors too, leading me to believe this is not weather related.
Magic Kingdom
Astro Orbiter, The Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, Liberty Square Riverboat, and Magic Carpets of Aladdin are all closed.
In addition, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Swiss Family Treehouse, Tom Sawyer Island, Tomorrowland Speedway, and PeopleMover are closed.
Is there anything in Magic Kingdom that’s open?! Yikes. Not a lot.
Epcot
At Epcot, most rides are closed like Frozen Ever After, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, Reflections of China, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Test Track.
You can go check out Gran Fiesta Tour or ride Soarin’ over and over again.
Hollywood Studios
Due to the issue, almost every single ride at Hollywood Studios is closed to Guests.
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
- Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Tower of Terror
Toy Story Mania and Aliens Swirling Saucers are still open for the time being, or you can grab a bite from Woody’s LunchBox. Star Tours and the shows are unaffected, as far as we are aware.
Animal Kingdom
Na’vi River Journey, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Flight of Passage are the only rides open at Animal Kingdom. DINOSAUR, Expedition Everest, Gorilla Falls, It’s Tough to be a Bug, Kali River Rapids, Maharajah Jungle Trek, and Triceratop Spin are closed.
This would be extremely disappointing to be in the parks when an issue as major as this arises. Hopefully the issue is resolved soon, and Guests can get back to riding their favorite rides!
