Since re-opening, Disney expanded mobile food ordering at many quick service locations. Not only that, but certain table service locations were added as well for food to go. Because this successfully cut down on waiting times and increased guest satisfaction, Disney began adding a mobile shopping feature.
Mobile Checkout on My Disney Experience
Check out your My Disney Experience or Disneyland App to find the shop in store option. This mobile checkout is in the testing phase at Disney World and Disneyland. As of now, only a few stores are using this feature.
Using Mobile Checkout
To use, just select the shop in store and select your store. To find this, select the + at the bottom of your My Disney Experience App. This brings up the pop up menu that includes mobile checkout.
After selecting your store, use the My Disney Experience App to scan the items you want to purchase. Rebecca shared here experience using mobile check out here. She shared that it is very easy to modify orders on the app also.
Discounts
As a Disney World Annual Passholder, I take advantage of every available discount. So I was curious to see if discounts would be applied using mobile check out.
Thankfully, the 20% Annual Passholder was automatically added. Hopefully, the Disney Visa discount of 10% off purchases of $50 or more applies also.
Stores Included in Mobile Check out
Previously, only Mouse Gears at EPCOT was included in mobile checkout. This was a great place to start testing this new feature on the My Disney Experience App. Now, World of Disney also utilizes mobile checkout.
World of Disney at Disney Springs has been added to mobile checkout.
That store can be so overwhelming since it is so large. Lines can also get very long. We’re excited about this and would love to see mobile checkout expanded to more shops. Maybe the Emporium will be next?
