New golden character sculptures to debut for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary

It’s another exciting day for Walt Disney World as they have announced more details regarding their 50th Anniversary celebration.

Walt Disney World is gearing up for a big celebration in October! Guests have new firework celebrations to look forward to, EPCOT’s Harmonious show has been revealed, and NEW character costumes and cavalcade!

New Character Sculptures

In this artist rendering Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are featured as special golden character sculptures in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. They will be joined by 50 characters as part of the “Disney Fab 50,” a new collection of golden sculptures debuting Oct. 1, 2021, across all four Walt Disney World theme parks as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. One of my (Maggie) favorite things at the Magic Kingdom are all of the bronze statues throughout the park. I love seeing Chip ‘n Dale, Cinderella, and of course the partner statue of Mickey and Walt. That has to be my absolute favorite!

Guests are in for a treat beginning October 1st. Disney Parks Blog has shared the following regarding new sculptures that will debut for the anniversary!

“These eight friends will also be featured in special golden character sculptures debuting Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom Park; in this artist rendering, you can see Mickey and Minnie shining in the sunlight near Cinderella Castle.

There will be 50 characters total in this series of sculptures that will be displayed across all four theme parks. We’ll soon reveal more of the “Disney Fab 50” as excitement builds for the big day, as well as the surprising ways you’ll be able to interact with these beautiful sculptures as part of the 50th anniversary celebration.” – Disney Parks Blog

I cannot wait to see more of the “Disney Fab 50” sculptures that will be revealed as we get closer to the anniversary.
