Disney guests don’t need to wear masks in most places, and now Disney announced an update for Cast Members. See what’s changed here.
Mask Requirements When Disney World Re-Opened
For many months, the mask policy at Disney World was simple: everyone must wear a mask at all times unless you are eating, drinking, swimming, or in your hotel room. Back in April, we finally saw this policy relax with Disney allowing Guests to remove their masks while taking an outdoor photo.
Updated Face Mask Policy for Guests
With CDC guidelines relaxing mask mandates, Disney announced, it was no longer mandatory for Guests to wear their masks outside.
Recently, we shared that Walt Disney World changed to their face mask policy for Cast Members. Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in most areas.
Cast Member Face Mask Policy
Earlier this month, we shared that Cast Members working outside, able to maintain proper distancing can lose their masks. Previously all Cast Members were required to wear a face mask. In addition certain Cast Members who had close interaction with Guests were also required to wear a face shield as well. Another update came on June 15th. Cast Members were no required to wear face shields in any capacity.
Updated Cast Member Policy
Beginning tomorrow, June 25, Cast Members will no longer have a different set of rules for face masks.
Fully vaccinated Cast Members will no longer be required to wear face masks in indoor or outdoor locations starting tomorrow. This excludes transportation.
The KtP writing team will keep you up-to-date when face masks are no longer required on transportation, or any other face mask changes occur.
