New Refurbishment Scheduled for Animal Kingdom Lodge

New Refurbishment Scheduled for Animal Kingdom Lodge

A portion of Animal Kingdom Lodge is scheduled for refurbishment. Full details on what will be closed and when can be found right here.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge opened its doors in 2001.  It is the only Disney resort that has views of animals from its rooms! On a typical day, guests might see zebras, giraffes, Ankole cattle, and okapi just to name a few. Be sure to check out Maggie’s full review of the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When Walt Disney World reopened to Guests last summer, only select Disney Resorts were available. At that time Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was only open to Disney Vacation Club Guests.

Starting August 26, 2021, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will fully reopen. Are you ready to book your next stay at this magnificent resort?

Refurbishment

One area of the resort is scheduled to undergo refurbishment next year so you may want to reconsider that!

The Samawati Springs Pool area in Kidani Village will close early next year for several months while work is completed on this area. Guests staying here can use the pool amenities at Jambo House‘s Uzima Springs Pool.

From January through April 2022, this pool area will be closed.

Other Work around Disney World

Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village is not the only Disney Resort receiving work. Old Key West and Saratoga Springs both have work scheduled on the main lobby areas this summer.

Contemporary Resort is also renovating the main rooms along with The Wave and main lobby areas as well. A short monorail ride away, the Polynesian is also getting a facelift with a completely new monorail and reimagined lobby. The rooms are also receiving a Moana makeover.

Unfortunately, the monorail will not be in service when the Polynesian officially reopens in a few weeks. For a full list of refurbishments, check out our post HERE.
