Hoping that you would be able to ditch the masks soon? There is still the face covering requirement for indoors, and now transportation will have to require masks into 2022 as well. What do you think of this requirement?
Mask Requirements
Currently, masks are required in a few key areas at Disney World. First, you are required to wear them at any indoor location. This includes shops and restaurants.
Second, you must also put one on before entering the official queue of an attraction and while on that attraction (even if the queue is outside).
Additionally, transportation options also require masks. This includes Magical Express, the Monorail, Skyliner, and buses. The friendship boats are considered an attraction and do not require face coverings.
Outdoor common areas in the theme parks and resorts do not require you to wear a mask, but they are optional.
New Mandate
The federal mandate that required face coverings to be worn in airports and transportation was set to expire in September.
However, it has just been extended to January 18, 2022 in an effort to address the virus.
Masks will be required on transportation until at least January 18, 2022.
What do this mean for your trip?
Do not retire those face coverings yet! Unless the CDC recommends and the government mandates otherwise, you will need masks until at least the start of 2022.
And not just for the airport! You will need them on all Disney transportation, as outlined above.
Despite the face coverings, social distancing has disappeared on transportation and in the parks. Guests on the Skyliner, Monorail, and buses are are asked to fill in all available space. All attractions are loading at full capacity, and queue lines are not spread out.
What do you think of the federal mask mandate? Will you be canceling your trip? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook. You can also join our KtP Crew and continue the discussion there. Please keep it friendly!

I would be ok with transportation, but I am SOOOO disappointed that they are mandated indoors. When is th going to end when the rest of the state is not requiring this?!

I live locally and except for my Ratatouille Passholder preview I haven’t set foot on Disney property and won’t until the mask mandate is gone again. I’m fully vaccinated and have been since January. The worst is being unable to use the AMC Disney Springs because of their mask mandate (no other theaters in Orlando have this rule) because that’s my nearest movie theater. But nope. I simply don’t care at all about the fools who refuse to get vaccinated and are getting sick. But WDW is the only company in Florida besides Kennedy Space Center requiring masks again. My money goes elsewhere.
