When Walt Disney World first reopened in July 2020, we were exited to experience the fun Character Cavalcades. These have been fun to experience in each of the 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Now one Theme Park will no longer offer them.
Character Cavalcades
Throughout the day Guests could enjoy special character cavalcades. These can be found in all 4 of the Walt Disney World Parks. Be sure to check out the Complete Guide to Character Cavalcades to check them all out.
It appeared that these Character Cavalcades would be with us for quite some time. We recently announced that after a year in operation, the Character Cavalcade showtimes are now listed on the My Disney Experience app.
Guests could also find characters throughout the Parks as well. These were such fun ways to experience a fun, socially-distanced interaction with some of our favorite pals. Check many of the fun characters HERE.
Absence of Character Cavalcades
As mentioned above, we had resolved ourselves that Character Cavalcades were our current “normal”, but one Walt Disney World Park now offers NO Character Cavalcades.
In April, we reported that the Mickey and Friends World Tour cavalcade that includes Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, and Minnie would no longer travel around the World Showcase in EPCOT.
Mickey and Minnie can now be found at the front of EPCOT near Spaceship Earth offering a socially distanced character interaction. This is not the same as a hug from Mickey Mouse, but it is a very fun interaction.
Previously Elsa and Anna were featured in a Cavalcade, but this was transformed into a socially distanced interaction in Norway.
But we still had one last Character Cavalcade that we could enjoy in EPCOT. The Princess Promenade most recently featured Belle, Mulan, and Snow White. Within the past few weeks, we were excited to see that additional princesses were available to meet throughout EPCOT in their respective countries.
Be sure to check out the current princesses that can be found throughout EPCOT HERE.
Previously, the Princess Promenade was listed under the “Entertainment” option both on the Walt Disney World website and also on the My Disney Experience app.
EPCOT now does not list Character Cavalcades on the WDW website or on the My Disney Experience app.
This last Character Cavalcade is no longer listed for EPCOT. It seems that EPCOT will now only offer the distanced character interactions around the World Showcase and at the entrance to the Park.
