Epcot’s Akershus reopens for very special Guests only!

Norway Pavilion’s table-service restaurant, Akershus, has been closed since March 2020. Good news: it has reopened! However, it is only open for very special Guests!

Located in the Norway Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, Akershus was a once-coveted princess dining experience!

Guests could feast on Norwegian fare in a medieval castle and meet several princesses:

Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Princess Aurora, and Ariel. I always thought Anna and Elsa would make great additions to this character meal! You can read our review from before the pandemic HERE.

It has previously been used as a relaxation station but has sat empty when Disney closed all of those spots in the parks earlier this summer.

Florida Blue Lounge

However, Akershus is not currently an open and operating restaurant like we remember it.

Florida Blue healthcare members and employees can visit Akershus, enjoy a complimentary snack and beverage, and cool off in the air conditioning. The lounge is open daily from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Florida Blue is sponsoring the 2021 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, which runs through November 2021, so this is an extra special treat for those who work for the company and do so much for the community.
